Fed: Union votes to ban NAPLAN tests
Education Minister JULIA GILLARD says national literacy and numeracy tests could still
go ahead .. despite the teachers union voting to boycott them.
AEU president ANGELO GAVRIELATOS says the NAPLAN tests won't be able to go ahead next
month unless the government addresses teachers' concerns about its My School website.
Ms GILLARD says the union's made the wrong decision .. and she's urged teachers to
stay the course and administer the tests.
She says the government will canvass a range of options to have the tests supervised
.. including using parents.
