Qld: Govt avoided debate on tour to explain asset sell-off: ETU

Queensland Premier ANNA BLIGH has detailed a new program to prevent job losses on the
final day of a tour of regional centres.

Visiting Curtis Island .. where new LNG and steel projects are planned .. Ms BLIGH
said the government will redirect funds from the old Worker Assistance Program to a new
scheme called JobsAssist.

She says the aim is to help prevent job losses in vulnerable firms.

Meanwhile .. the premier has been hammered over her Building For Jobs Tour .. with
union accusations she's trying to avoid discussing the government's planned sale of state
assets.

And she's been accused of wasting money .. used for publicity to promote her tour.
