NSW: Costa denies tax deal done with federal government
New South Wales Treasurer MICHAEL COSTA says he hasn't bowed to Commonwealth pressure
and agreed to axe almost a billion dollars in indirect taxes.
Yesterday at a meeting of the nation's treasurers .. PETER COSTELLO and Mr COSTA agreed
to hold discussions for a timeline to abolish the taxes.
Media reports have said Mr COSTA agreed to reform the taxes .. but he says today ..
he hasn't agreed to any deal to scrap the taxes.
He says New South Wales will only do so when the state starts to get a fairer share
of GST revenue.
