Bowls: Australian pairs through to quarter finals
Australia's men's and women's pairs lawn bowls teams have booked berths in the CommonwealthGames quarter-finals.
The men's team of ANDREW SMITH and KELVIN KERKOW beat South Africa 14-11 in their finalgroup match to advance while the women's team beat Malaysia 14-12 for a quarter finalberth.
The men's team was in danger of dropping out of the Games after losing to New Zealand18-8 but scraped through to the quarters with today's win.
Both the men's and women's fours team failed to make it to the quarter-finals.
