Fed: Accommodation earnings up over $1 blln in Spt qtr
New figures show hotels and motels had a bumper winter last year, pulling in more than
$1 billion between July and September.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics figures show accommodation services, including
guest houses and apartments, raked in $1,078 million over the September quarter.
They're the strongest figures ever for the period and takings were eight per cent higher
than in 1998.
The bureau says earnings were up across all states and territories, with the number
